UVI Drum Replacer | Machine Learning Drum Replacement and 8-Layer Sample/VSTi Trigger Plugin
Use a machine-learning drum replacement plugin to quickly achieve precise separation, triggering, and layered mixing
UVI Drum Replacer is a drum replacement plugin from UVI that uses machine learning analysis technology. It offers separation of up to 5 drum components and 8-track simultaneous/sequential/random triggering, can load internal samples or external VSTi triggering, and supports real-time detection, tempo tracking, and positive/negative delay calibration.
For producers who need to handle drum bleed, reinforce kick and snare, layer 808s, or build modern drum tones, Drum Replacer integrates drum mixing, drum replacement, and triggering into a single workflow. Compared with traditional manual slicing, hand-drawn MIDI, or multi-plugin chains, UVI Drum Replacer uses spectral model analysis and real-time component separation to greatly reduce setup time while making it easier to precisely trigger and time-align specific drum hits.
Who is UVI Drum Replacer for?
UVI Drum Replacer core machine-learning drum replacement technology and features
- Machine-learning component separation: Uses machine learning-based analysis to build spectral models for each drum sound, splitting incoming audio in real time into up to 5 discrete components plus 1 residual component, making it easy to process kick, snare, or other hit elements independently.
- Real-time analysis and learning workflow: You can press LEARN directly on incoming audio for analysis, or drag and drop audio files into the plugin for offline learning, allowing users to quickly build triggerable drum source models.
- 8-track Sample / VSTi triggering architecture: Built-in 8-track layer system that can load audio samples or virtual instruments, supporting simultaneous, sequential, or random triggering, ideal for thick layered drums, natural variation, or rhythmic triggering.
- High-precision detection control: Provides Threshold, Cooldown, Gate Duration, and Max Velocity detection parameters for more accurate transient capture, avoiding false triggers while preserving velocity variation.
- Tempo and gain tracking: The analysis process supports gain and velocity tracking, allowing replaced drum sounds to better match the dynamics of the original performance rather than simply replaying at a fixed volume.
- Positive/negative delay offset calibration: Each track has configurable positive and negative offsets for pre-triggering or delayed alignment, making it easy to precisely sync third-party samples, VSTi instruments, or sub-bass layers with the original audio.
- Deep sample editing: Sample tracks include an interactive waveform view, start/end adjustment, reverse playback, phase inversion, polyphony settings, AHD amplitude envelope, gain matching, and ±48 semitone pitch adjustment.
- Offline pitch matching: Offline pitch matching helps samples blend more easily with the pitch and phase relationship of the original drum sound, reducing conflicts after layering.
- Native VSTi editing integration: Instrument tracks can directly open the full GUI editor of external plugins and set MIDI channels and notes, making Drum Replacer not just a sample trigger but also a drum-hit driver.
- Built-in browser and favorites: Browse local samples and plugins, and manage frequently used sound sources with Favorites, reducing repeated setup time between projects.
- Preset workflow optimization: Supports full 8-track templates and single-track preset saving, ideal for building personalized snare replacement, Kick + 808 layering, or multi-style drum processing chains.
- Combines bleed cleanup and creative processing: In addition to drum replacement, it can be used to remove drum recording bleed, add sub-bass, enhance attack, or turn specific drum hits into rhythmic instrument trigger sources.
