Antelope Atlas i8|Isobaric Three-Way Studio Monitor that Shakes the Studio
Next-Generation Active Monitor with Dual 8-inch Isobaric Woofers
The Antelope Atlas i8 is a three-way active monitor speaker from Antelope Audio, featuring an innovative dual 8-inch isobaric woofer design and a powerful built-in FPGA chip for digital signal processing. The core technology of this monitor speaker is designed to provide unparalleled low-frequency extension, precise stereo imaging, and a fatigue-free listening experience over long periods, making it a cutting-edge solution specifically built for modern recording studios. The Antelope Atlas i8 combines meticulous acoustic engineering with Antelope's decades of research and development in digital signal processing, redefining the standard for professional monitoring.
Compared to traditional monitor speakers that require a trade-off between cabinet volume and low-frequency extension, the Atlas i8 achieves astonishing low-frequency depth and sound pressure levels within a more compact cabinet through its unique isobaric design, while maintaining extremely high sonic accuracy. Unlike many monitors that rely solely on generic DSP chips, the core of the Atlas i8 features AD/DA converters and a custom FPGA processor on par with Antelope's flagship Galaxy audio interfaces, and integrates the brand's renowned 64-bit AFC Acoustically Focused Clocking technology, ensuring top-tier fidelity at every stage from signal input to sound output.

Who is the Antelope Atlas i8 for?
Antelope Atlas i8 Core Technologies and Features
-
Revolutionary Isobaric Design: Less space, more bass. By sealing two 8-inch woofers back-to-back in a separate chamber, the required cabinet volume is significantly reduced, yet it delivers unparalleled low-frequency response and power, avoiding distortion even at high volumes.
-
Coaxial Mid-High Frequency Driver: The mid-range and high-frequency drivers are arranged coaxially, forming a perfect point source, effectively improving phase coherence. Whether placed vertically or horizontally, it avoids comb filtering effects, ensuring clarity across the entire frequency range.
-
FPGA Digital Core Processing: Built-in custom FPGA chip drives precise FIR and IIR filters, achieving perfect time-aligned response, clear transient response, and extremely focused stereo imaging, providing a truly reference-grade monitoring experience.
-
Flagship AD/DA Conversion: Unlike most DSP speakers that compromise on conversion quality, the Atlas i8 uses the same top-tier AD/DA converters as Antelope's flagship Galaxy series audio interfaces, ensuring the complete preservation of sound details.
-
64-bit AFC Acoustically Focused Clocking: Integrates Antelope's industry-renowned 64-bit AFC clocking technology. This exclusive technology maximizes AD/DA conversion quality, providing the same professional standard as world-class recording studios, resulting in purer sound and higher separation.
-
Custom Class-D Amplifiers: Three built-in Class-D amplifiers custom-designed for the Atlas i8, featuring extremely low harmonic distortion and noise floor. They drive the woofer with 200W, the mid-range with 100W, and the tweeter with 100W, providing clean and powerful sound pressure levels.
-
Diverse Connectivity: In addition to standard XLR and TRS analog inputs, it also features AES/EBU digital input and output, allowing you to bypass the audio interface's D/A conversion and directly utilize the Atlas i8's built-in top-tier conversion and clocking technology, or easily daisy-chain two monitors.
Software Control Panel
Through the dedicated software control panel, you can remotely control all advanced functions of the speaker from the sweet spot, including precise room correction EQ, delay compensation, bass management modes, and preset access, achieving the most efficient workflow.
Room EQ
- Provides a powerful 8-band parametric EQ for precise tuning to your workspace.
- Easily adjust frequency, gain, and Q value for each band to effectively suppress low-frequency room modes or correct high-frequency issues caused by desktop reflections.
- In addition to software control, this EQ function can also be operated directly via the speaker's rear panel screen and knob.
Delay Offset
- Allows you to fine-tune the timing of each speaker to ensure that the sound from both left and right channels reaches your ears simultaneously.
- If one speaker is closer to the listening position, a delay of up to 10 milliseconds (ms) can be applied to it, adjustable with a precision of 0.1 milliseconds.
- This function significantly improves stereo imaging, enhances transient clarity, and maintains accurate monitoring in asymmetrical setups.
Bass Management Modes
-
Bass Extension Mode: Enhances low-frequency depth, providing a fuller, more enveloping response without the need for a subwoofer.
-
Two-Way Mode: Activates a High-Pass Filter with selectable cutoff frequencies of 80Hz, 100Hz, or 120Hz. This mode is ideal for integrating with subwoofers or optimizing speaker performance in multi-channel and immersive audio environments.
Preset Recall
- Allows you to save and quickly recall complete speaker settings, including EQ, delay, input source, and bass mode.
- The speaker itself can store 5 presets, and the computer software can store an additional 5 quick-access presets.
- Facilitates quick switching between different rooms, users, or listening scenarios, offering great operational flexibility.
